Who We Are

At The Serenity Foundation, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization that strives to support young adults who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction. Through grants in aid, we are able to provide financial support to those who are otherwise unable to pay for their treatment.

The sheer number of individuals, both young and old, suffering from addiction is staggering. Currently, it is estimated that there are 15 to 30 million alcoholics in the United States. Many more millions are believed to be addicted to other drugs, both legal and illegal. Of these addicts, very few are in recovery. According to alcohol addiction expert, Dr. LeClair Bissell, only 10% of alcoholics enter into effective treatment programs. Of those who seek treatment, very few are able to stay sober, despite all of the studies and money poured into medical research.

Additionally, according to the Core Institute, a leading research assessment and development organization serving alcohol and drug treatment programs across the nation, 159,000 of today’s first year college students will drop out of school next year for alcohol or drug related reasons. Sadly, these young adults are losing their opportunity for an education because of their addiction.

To combat the growing epidemic of addiction, more research is needed to find a cure for this devastating disease. Furthermore, it is of great importance that the latest research is available to the public at large. This research and awareness will help addicts and substance abusers across our country.

What We Do

Our mission is to successfully fulfill the needs of at-risk young adults who are battling addiction, regardless of their family’s ability to pay for treatment.

Through grants in aid and educational programs, we can provide the support that addicts and their families need. With these grants, young adults have the opportunity to continue in a residential substance abuse treatment program that provides a supportive, sober environment. These residents will have full access to professional counseling, in order to facilitate their success to a full recovery.

The Serenity Foundation strives to improve public health through education on alcoholism and drug addiction. Our primary goal is to allow young adults and their families in need of financial support, to obtain the services necessary to recover from their alcohol or drug addiction. Through our foundation, young adults who are enrolled in a full term residential substance abuse treatment program, have access to a supportive, sober environment and professional counseling, despite their inability to pay for such treatment.
